Seems like this has no solution considering China and Russia (as in the Korean War) will not tolerate a US ally on the Chinese border. Also, the US plans of no trade with nations doing business with North Korea has too much money on the line (billions of lost trade with China) so even a successful attempt at that would lead to a coup in the US (and of course, be short-lived). But I don't think that would ever happen - to begin with - because money always wins in the end.
